Summer Art/ Photography Workshop in CDO

6:28 PM 1 Comments A+ a-

Last Tuesday, March 26, 2013 we happened to visit a dear friend of my Kuya in Limketkai for an art exhibit, I believe most  of you would know this guy (the birthday boy) named Rhyan Casiño (one of the artist's icon in the city). *wink* Anyway, I thought that it was really an art exhibit but instead a registration booth for their summer workshop and that my daughter signified for the art workshop while my other cousin was interested on the photography field.

So what's with this summer workshop? Well for me,  Art classes like these would simply provide students the chance to develop their cognitive and creative skills, and most of all they will be developing their imaginations. So what are you waiting for? Why not indulge yourself, your kids, friends, relatives to enroll in this field and make your summer vacation a creative one.

So here it is....

4sqDay 2013

Yay! I can't wait for this event to happen because it would be my very first time to participate in this kind of meetup...

This was the original message from Foursquare:

April is quickly approaching, and you know what that means: the fourth annual 4sqDay is just around the corner!

On April 16th, you can celebrate by:
 - Attending a meetup in your city (if one isn't set up yet, you can create it!)
 - Already planning a meetup? Create a 4sqDay check-in special that attendees can unlock once they arrive (e.g. “Free fries or a free drink!” or other clever 4/16 tie-ins)!
 - If you’re not attending a meetup, you can still help us celebrate by checking in at a local business that’s new to your city, or just new to you! They’ll appreciate it, and we’ll be thrilled to see Foursquare at work, connecting people to places.

Keep an eye on http://blog.foursquare.com for announcements and the community-powered blog at http://blog.4sqday.com for ideas from the 4sqDay team. Remember to mark your calendars for April 16!

Since I belong to the CDO Bloggers Cluster 5 , we have come up as a group to participate in this yearly event from foursquare. I believe this would be the first also for the Cagayan de Oro Bloggers to join the said event (except for some) so will make it sure that we will not be absent in this upcoming event and rest asured this will be the start of an engaging mission.

YES! CDO Bloggers will be celebrating 4sqDay on April 16, 2013.

Cagayan de Oro – On March 18 to 20, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, Inc. (OB Philippines) will conduct a three-day surgical mission in Cagayan de Oro City for poor Filipinos with serious health problems.

This is in partnership with Tulong sa Kapwa-Philippine-American Association of Connecticut (PAAC), SHARE Foundation and Capitol University Medical Center.

A contingent of 17 medical professionals composed of anaesthesiologists, electrophysiologist, pediatric ophthalmologist, cardiac surgeon, OB/GYN, orthopedic surgeon and registered nurses from the US.  They will perform open-heart surgeries, pacemaker insertion, orthopedic and gynaecologic procedures, and pediatric and adult strabismus repair for patients who cannot afford expensive medical operations.

“Our partnership with PAAC and Capitol University Medical Center will surely give hope to our kababayans who have life-threatening medical conditions. They are desperate for surgeries that can help them live better lives,” said Dr. Kim April Pascual, OB Philippines’ Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

“We are deeply appreciative of the enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment showed by the doctors and volunteers who are joining this event,” she adds.

PAAC is also thankful for the opportunity to lend a helping hand and to offer their medical expertise to ailing Filipinos.

“This is the first time that PAAC joins Operation Blessing in a major event such as this. It is extremely rewarding to help our needy kababayans, most especially in rural areas where there is little access to this kind of treatment,” shared Dr. Gino Ang, M.D., chairman of PAAC.

OB Philippines is a non-profit organization and the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia Inc., producer of weeknight inspirational TV program The 700 Club Asia which airs weekdays over GMA News TV.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 25 — The Cagayan de Oro Bloggers, Inc., holds the first two meet-up for this year, last February 9 and 23 at two different fast food chains in the city.

The First Tipok2x at Mc Donalds LKKS

The meet-up was dubbed “Tipok-Tipok” which was organized by Eldie “Ding” Aban, CDO Bloggers Board Member and Venus Mabale, the Vice President for Internal Affairs.

“Tipok-Tipok” aims to welcome interested members and a venue for sharing tips on blogging. The existing members help new members setup their own blogs and give out tips on utilizing the full potential of social media. Also, the activity itself served as an offline social activity for most online workers. For this year, the organization will be holding one or two “Tipok-Tipok” per month to promote unity and camaraderie among bloggers in Cagayan de Oro.

Dates and venues of the meet-ups are announced on the CDO Bloggers Facebook Page and Twitter Page. CDO Bloggers opens its membership to the public until the middle of March this year. For inquiries and submission of application, you can send it to cdobloggersinc@gmail.com.
